Abstrak

Buku ini mengupas dinamika interaksi mikroflora tanah di rizosfer dan potensinya sebagai agen biokontrol dalam budidaya kentang. Diawali dengan pembahasan keanekaragaman mikroflora tanah dan perannya dalam ekosistem pertanian, buku ini menjelaskan kompleksitas interaksi mikroba mulai dari simbiosis mutualistik hingga kompetisi nutrien dan ruang. Fokus utama diberikan pada mekanisme antagonisme mikroba, khususnya kapang tanah, dalam menekan patogen utama kentang seperti Fusarium spp. penyebab layu fusarium dan Rhizoctonia solani pemicu busuk kering umbi. Bab khusus membahas strategi pemanfaatan kapang antagonis (seperti Trichoderma dan Penicillium) sebagai pengendali hayati, dilengkapi studi kasus inventarisasi mikoflora tanah di rizosfer kentang. Melalui metode isolasi dan identifikasi, buku ini mengungkap keragaman kapang tanah serta seleksi strain potensial berdasarkan kemampuan parasitisme dan produksi senyawa antimikroba. Tidak kalah penting, dibahas pula peran PGPF (Plant Growth-Promoting Fungi) dalam meningkatkan pertumbuhan kentang melalui produksi hormon, pelarutan fosfat, dan induksi ketahanan tanaman. Gabungan pendekatan ekologi mikroba dan aplikasi praktis ini menjadikan buku ini referensi komprehensif bagi peneliti, praktisi pertanian, dan mahasiswa yang tertarik pada pengendalian penyakit kentang berbasis mikroba alami.
